About Gezin

Built by a family, for families running a business

Gezin (say it "heh-ZIN") is Dutch for "family." I picked it because most of the businesses I want to help are family-run, and so is mine.

Hi, I'm Virginia

I live on a small farm in the Peace Region of northern Alberta with my husband Brenton and our three kids. Brenton is a pressure welder who subcontracts in the oil field, so I've seen up close what it means when the phone doesn't ring.

Before marketing, I worked as a bookkeeper, in an insurance office, in a gym, and in the oil field as a medic and a rig safety manager. Each job taught me something about how small businesses run, and most of them run on the owner's time.

I've been doing digital marketing for close to ten years. Gezin is the part of my work built for local service businesses: set scopes, set prices, and straight answers about what's working and what isn't.

I also run Distinct Digital Marketing, which builds custom AI systems for service businesses. Gezin handles fixed-scope marketing. If a Gezin client ever needs a custom system, that's the only place the two meet.
